Who is Arielle?
Tenacious • User Advocate • Storyteller • Innovator
Tenacious
In 2013, I moved to NYC without a job or a permanent place to stay, but I secured a junior project manager role within three months, which introduced me to UX Design. Since then, I've contributed to projects for notable clients like HBO Max, DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket, and PwC at esteemed companies like frog Design and Morgan Stanley for over eight years. Currently, I'm studying for a Masters of Design in Interaction Design at ArtCenter College of Design, focusing my thesis on Black Maternal Health.
User Advocate
My favorite aspect of user experience design is creating an experience that centers around users by understanding their routines, frustrations, motivations, and concerns. In my cross-functional teams, I consistently advocate for conducting research, depending on the project timeline. As a designer, I believe it is my duty to make decisions informed by data, whether it comes from user research, secondary research, or usability testing.
Storyteller
As a child, my favorite pastime was crafting fictional stories. This passion has been rekindled in my role as a designer. I weave narratives that engage senior leadership and cross-functional teams in product design, connecting them to business goals, data, and user feedback. In my presentations, I often personalize the narrative, intertwining real experiences and humanizing the personas who uses or will use our product or service.
Innovator
I enjoy creating new experiences or redefining existing ones. It's rewarding to map out information, identify gaps and opportunities, and use them as the foundation for ideation. I particularly enjoy sketching all the user cases, user flows, and prototyping, finding ways to simplify intricate experiences. It feels like alchemy, blending strategic thinking with imagination to create something unique.
